We are seeking at the earliest possible date a Research Associate (m/f) Native Traits – Abiotic Stress Tolerance Maize on a permanent, full-time basis for our maize molecular breeding team of KWS in Einbeck, Germany.
Develop competitive lines and hybrids with improved abiotic stress tolerance (drought, low N)
Working in an international team of breeders, technicians, biostatisticians, and molecular geneticists.
Design, analyze, and interpret field experiments for improving maize abiotic stress tolerance in South and South-East Europe
Implementation of new methods and technologies for environmental characterization, phenotyping and molecular marker application (including genomic prediction)
Collaboration with international scientific institutions

PHD in plant breeding, plant physiology or applied plant genetics
Knowledge in plant breeding, quantitative genetics, molecular marker applications, biostatistics, and plant physiology
Experience with plant field experiments
Basic knowledge in molecular biology
Understanding and experience using statistical software such as R to analyze and interpret large phenotypic and genotypic data sets is a plus
Excellent team player and communication skills
Attendance for travelling
Excellent English Language skills
German language skills are a plus
