Fast-track Diagnostics (FTD) Ltd develops and commercializes worldwide multiplex real time PCR (RT-PCR) assays to detect a wide range of viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Job Description
The post-holders will add to the current team of Application Specialists. You will be responsible for developing new business in a defined part of Germany, Belgium and Austria, and, as part of the AS team, providing expert technical and clinical support to customers worldwide. The successful candidate will also work with teams based in Malta and the UK. The candidate will travel 50% of the time and will spend the rest of the time in the office to work closely with R&D, production and clinical staff in Luxembourg.
Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing and growing FTD business in their assigned region for both current and prospective customers in hospitals, universities and private laboratories.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships from purchasing officials to bench technicians.
  • Manage FTDs response to tenders.
  • Conduct technical seminars at customer sites, trade shows and workshops.
  • Assist in the introduction of FTD kits into the routine laboratory workflow.
As part of a rotation with the team of Application Specialists:
  • Provide technical support and complaint via email and phone or visits to customers worldwide.
  • Develop and update training materials for customers.
  • Contribute to the set up and maintenance of a database of product validation data.
Experience and Requirements
  • Qualified to Degree level in Microbiology or Science.
  • Two years experience in a molecular biology environment.
  • Experience in a sales and/or customer support role would be a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of the diagnostic market and methods of infectious disease testing.
  • Excellent technical presentation skills.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Fluency in German and English is required and willingness to travel extensively (half of time) and to work outside normal hours as required to travel to and stay near customer sites.
  • Good interpersonal, team and communication skills; able to communicate with a range of people including purchasing departments, laboratory technicians, laboratory heads and clinicians.
