Molecular Partners is a thriving and steadily growing clinical stage biotech company located in Zürich, Switzerland. The company, a technology pioneer in the field of scaffold protein therapeutics and selection technologies, is developing DARPins with its lead product in advanced clinical studies. The company has a proprietary pipeline of drug candidates as well as collaborations with international pharmaceutical companies.
We are looking for a motivated, independent researcher to join our immune-oncology program at the Department of Oncology.
This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
  • Provide scientific lead to Immuno-Oncology / Oncology projects from Discovery to Preclinical Development
  • Develop and supervise performance of various immunological assays from the screening phase to characterization of selected, DARPin-based lead drug candidates
  • Make data driven decisions and report the progress to senior management and defend the project through review processes
  • Contribute to preparation of scientific reports, patents and research papers
  • Presentation to senior management team, external companies and key opinion leaders
  • Proposal of new target ideas and therapeutic approaches
For this challenging position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in biology or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry drug discovery and development or academia. You should further bring along:
  • Strong basic knowledge of immunology and extensive hands-on experience with relevant techniques including experimentation with various subsets of human and mouse cells
  • Experience with characterization of tumor-specific immune response in tumor mouse models or ex vivo characterization of patient derived tumor material
  • Experience with protein therapeutics is an advantage
  • Independence
  • Strong ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organization skills
  • Sound oral and written English is a must
