PhD position in hematopoietic stem cell research

Diese Stellenanzeige ist abgelaufen. Finden Sie hier zahlreiche ähnliche Jobs.

The laboratory ‘Regeneration in Hematopoiesis’ at the Technical University Dresden is looking for a highly motivated PhD student. Our lab is interested in the biology of HSCs and hematopoiesis in mice and men and we are looking for a PhD student to support our team focusing on the regulation of HSCs by their micorenvironment. HSCs are tightly regulated by their bone marrow microenvironment, but up to now the composition and molecular factors of this so called HSC niche is still not fully understood. To better understand the extrinsic regulation of HSCs in vivo, the project aims at characterizing the niche in steady state and to analyze how it changes during inflammation and other hematopoietic stress conditions. We use state-of-the-art mouse models and employ a CRISPR/Cas9-mediated strategy to abrogate gene expression to validate the function of candidate genes in vivo.
