The Graduate School organizes structured PhD training in a supportive and international environment. The curriculum offers advanced research training, annual PhD retreats, and travel grants for external courses, summer schools, and conferences, besides a framework program for personal and career development.
Within the Graduate School, students can apply to one of four thematically focused PhD Research Schools or Exchange Programs:
- The International Helmholtz Research School “Molecular Neurobiology” (MolNeuro)
- The International Helmholtz Research School “Translational Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine" (TransCard)
- The MDC-NYU PhD Exchange Program in Medical Systems Biology
- The German-Israeli Helmholtz Research School “Frontiers in Cell Signaling and Gene Regulation” (SignGene)
We are looking for candidates of any nationality, who hold or expect to obtain a research Master degree or German diploma not later than March 2017. The MDC accepts applications from students with degrees in chemistry, biology, molecular medicine, and related subjects as well as students from quantitative sciences (including computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics) for biophysical or theoretical PhD projects.
