The DFG-funded priority program SPP1819 “Rapid evolutionary adaptation - Potential and constraints” is looking for a

Project Coordinator  (TV-L E13 50%)

The research group ‘Crop Biodiversity and Breeding Informatics’ at the University of Hohenheim coordinator of this priority program.

This position involves administrative duties like interaction with the steering committee of the priority program and the researchers funded by the projects, organising annual meetings and workshops and maintaining the website.

Another central task of the position is to contribute to the development of a teaching module on reproducible research for the junior scientists funded by the priority program. This task includes the development and adaptation of existing teaching material, the interaction with initiatives like Software Carpentry (www.software-carpentry.org) and Data Carpentry (datacarpentry.org) as well as the organisation and teaching of workshops and training courses.

We search for applicants with a Master-level degree in biology or bioinformatics or a related field. The position requires very good organization, communication and team-working skills and we expect and independent working style. A basic familiarity with current tools for sequence analysis, statistical analysis (e.g., R) and basic programming skills are highly desirable. You are expected to acquire additional knowlege of tools (i.e., web content management systems, data analysis tools) and to follow the develpments in reproducible research.

The position is available immediately for three years and paid according to the E13 TV-L government salary scale (50% part-time).  The University of Hohenheim is an equal opportunity employer.
