Role of lipid mediators in immunometabolic disorders OR Structure-function studies of enzymes in the arachidonic acid cascade

- Studies of the role of lipid mediators in immunometabolic disorders such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. This project will involve pharmacological studies of metabolic receptors in various immune cells and their link to lipid mediator signaling.
Structure-function studies of enzymes in the arachidonic acid cascade and related drug development efforts. The focus will be on biochemical and biophysical studies of recombinant enzymes and development of enzyme inhibitors.
Candidates should already possess a first class MSc (biology, pharmacy or related discipline) or an MD degree.
