Scientist (m/f) Neurosciences

The main goal of this position is to support the development of new innovative Positron Emission Tomography (PET)-imaging tracers for the detection of neurodegenerative disease. To this end, experimental approaches in our labs involve and combine in vitro binding/competition assays, in vivo/ ex vivo experiments with (transgenic) animals and histological analysis of human neuropathology. You will work closely with Chemists and Radiochemists and will be responsible for the biological characterization of new imaging tracers. Another important part of your responsibility will be the generation and preparation of preclinical data required to enter first-in-man studies.

We offer an opportunity to work within a stimulating international research environment with well-equipped laboratories.

Successful applicants must have a university degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Pharmacy and a Ph.D. with focus in Neurodegeneration. A very good background knowledge around tau and alpha-synuclein and experience in neuropharmacology and/or neuropathology is essential. Strong hands-on experience with binding/competition assays, histological techniques including (emulsion) autoradiography, and handling of radioactivity are required. Previous experience with handling of (transgenic) animals, biodistribution and imaging techniques, especially preclinical PET imaging would be a strong advantage. The ability to deal routinely with conventional IT applications is assumed. Applicants should be fluent in English and possess good communication, organization and team working skills.

We offer a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in an international environment. The position is available immediately and is limited to two years.

If you want to become part of an entrepreneurial team, if you are prepared to assume a wide range of responsibilities and if your background and personal experience fits this profile, please send us your complete application (Cover letter detailing your interest in this position including your past relevant research and work experience, CV, certificates, publication list, etc.) as a single pdf document to:
