Postdoc Cancer Immunotherapy
DKFZ Heidelberg (m/f)


  • Establishment of novel cell-based in vitro models for the thorough evaluation of lead and development candidates with a specific focus on primary human immune cells
  • In vitro pharmacological characterization and detailed mode-of-action analyses supporting the development of novel of cancer therapeutics (both small molecules and big molecules)
  • Responsible for scientific planning, evaluation, interpretation and presentation within one of the lead identification/lead optimization projects
  • Contribution to the further development of a sustainable project portfolio within the DKFZ-Bayer Alliance on Cancer Immunotherapy


  • University degree in biology, biochemistry, or pharmacy with a PhD in the field of oncology or pharmacology
  • Very good knowledge and strong hands-on experience in the area of cellular immunology, preferentially including work with primary human immune cells
  • Proven expertise in the field of tumor immunology and/or T-cell immunology supported by a track record of relevant publications
  • Curiosity and passion for research
  • Organizational talent and strong communication skills
  • High level of commitment, sense of responsibility, and ability to work in teams
  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English, basic knowledge of German is helpful


This is a fixed-term contract for two years with the option of being extended for a further year. The position is located at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg in the DKFZ-Bayer Joint Immunotherapeutics Lab headed by Prof. Dr. Rienk Offringa.
