Opening: Postdoc-Position for Biologist (Cell Biology/Molecular Biology)
The In-vivo NMR Group at the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research in Cologne is looking for a postdoc at the earliest possible date. Our research interest focuses on the inflammatory response and the stem cell mediated regeneration of cerebral lesions induced by ischemic stroke in rodent animal models.
What we are looking for Candidate must hold a PhD and have a strong background in stem cell biology, molecular biology and neurobiology.
At least 3 years of cloning and virus production expertise.
At least 3 years of stem cell and/or neuron culture experience with excellent aseptic technique.
Molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.
Microscopy and the use of Image analysis software.
Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
The candidate has to be enthusiastic, a team player, curious and open minded.
Rodent animal handling and physiology
In vivo imaging techniques, such as Bioluminescence imaging and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Access to dedicated high field MRI systems, to microPET, and optical imaging systems.
