PostDoctoral Position (Influenza Virus Research)

The Heinrich Pette Institute - Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology (HPI), is committed to research on the biology of different human viruses as well as the pathogenesis of viral diseases (http://www.hpi-hamburg.de). The HPI offers the opportunity to perform cutting-edge research in a world-class research environment with excellent technical and animal facilities.

We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented postdoctoral fellow with a PhD or equivalent degree in life sciences (biology, microbiology, veterinary medicine or medicine). The applicant should have experience in viral research and animal studies. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and should be able to supervise students and perform team-oriented as well as independent work. Practical experiences in the necessary disciplines and techniques in influenza virology and animal models would be an asset.

The position will be for 2 years in the research group “Viral Zoonosis and Adaptation” (head: Prof. Gülsah Gabriel) with the possibility of extension. Payment and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TV-AVH (salary agreement for public service employees).
