Postdoctoral position on the analysis of (human) cell – material surface interaction using advanced in vitro models
Interaction of cells with different material surfaces is of crucial importance for the performance of novel materials based healthcare solutions. You will work with- and establish advanced in vitro models to foster the understanding of the interaction between different biomaterials (i.e. metals, ceramics, polymers) and primary human cells as well as cell lines. You will be responsible for designing, executing and analyzing scientific experiments in an interdisciplinary environment in cooperation with industrial and academic partners. In addition, you will write scientific publications, support grant applications and present data at national and international conferences.
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a PhD degree in cell biology, biomaterials science, or a related field, who is capable to independently and efficiently pursue basic scientific and industry related projects in an interdisciplinary environment. You are open-minded, dynamic and have good communication skills (English is a must, German is considered an advantage). You are proficient with assays in cell- and molecular biology (i.e. fluorescence microscopy, SEM, qRT-PCR, western blot, ELISA). Experience with signaling pathway analysis is considered a plus.
We offer a highly interdisciplinary research environment with state of the art laboratory equipment to perform industry relevant cutting-edge research. This position (100%) is immediately available and for a period of 2 years with the possibility for an extension.
