At TU Dresden, DFG Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden - Cluster of Excellence (CRTD), the human neuronal circuit laboratory is looking for a
 
Postdoctoral Researcher
(When the personal conditions have been met employees are remunerated in salary group E 13 TV-L)
 
with neurobiology background skilled in electrophysiology (patch-clamp and microelectrode arrays) to study the functionality of stem cell-derived human neuronal circuits. The position starts at 1 April 2015 and is limited until 31 December 2017. The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). Balancing family and career is an important issue. The post is basically suitable for candidates seeking part-time employment.
Tasks: Ideally, the candidate will conduct and guide electrophysiological experiments as well as participate in our interdisciplinary approach covering stem cell research, neuronal differentiation, neuronal disease modeling and technical aspects of homing human neuronal circuits in vitro.
Requirements: A suitable candidate must hold a PhD degree, be an expert in electrophysiology, have extensive hands-on experience with patch-clamp recordings and a background in neuroscience. The candidate should be interested in an interdisciplinary and interactive work environment in the area of stem cell research, neuronal network fabrication and analysis. Communication in English is essential since we offer an international working atmosphere at the CRTD and are participating in international projects. A background in programming, statistics, and data analysis will be helpful.
