Scientist as Postdoc - Characterization of transgenic mice (m/f)

Diese Stellenanzeige ist abgelaufen. Finden Sie hier zahlreiche ähnliche Jobs.

We offer an exciting research project aiming at the immunohistochemical, functional, and behavioural characterization of our recently generated P2X7-GFP transgenic mice.

P2X receptors represent a class of ATP-gated ion channels that are present in virtually all mammalian tissues and mediate a large variety of responses ranging from fast neurotransmission to proliferation and cell death. Their importance as novel drug targets (e.g. for the treatment of pain and inflammatory processes) is increasingly becoming apparent. In this project we are aiming at understanding the physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms of P2X7 receptor activation and signaling to validate them as drug targets.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with enthusiasm for science and a strong background in molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, neuroscience and/or immunology. Experience in the handling and breeding of mice is a requirement. The ability to independently and responsibly plan, perform, and supervise experiments and to work in a multidisciplinary team is expected.
