PhD position in biology/ RNA biochemistry

At the Institute for Cell Biology and Neurosciences, Cluster of Excellence Frankfurt at the Goethe University Frankfurt is inviting applications for a
 
PhD student(E13 TV-G-U, 65%-part time)
 
to study the mechanisms of circular RNA biosynthesis. The project aims to elucidate the formation and functions of hypoxia-regulated circular RNA formation in angiogenesis. The candidate should hold a Master degree, have experience in RNA biology and cell culture work and should be proficient in English. Expertise in bioinformatics would be advantageous. The student will work at the interface between cell biology/RNA biochemistry (Prof. Michaela Müller-McNicoll) and cardiovascular physiology (Prof. Stefanie Dimmeler). Bioinformatics analyses will be performed in close collaboration with Dr. Kathi Zarnack at the Buchmann Institute for Molecular Life Sciences. The position is supported by the Cluster of Excellence Frankfurt and is initially limited to 2 yearswith the possibility of extension.
