PhD-Thesis: Adaptor-Protein-Complexes dependent Protein Sorting in Synaptic Signaling

PhD-project: We are analyzing the functions and mechanisms of vesicle-coat-proteins in protein sorting and transport vesicle formation. These processes are essential in all forms of cell-cell communication, which regulate tissue-development as well as tissue-functions. We are focusing on the family of adaptor-protein complexes AP-1 & AP-2 and their functions in neuronal synapses. Experimental expertise in primary cell culture, microscopy, biochemistry as well as in cell and molecular biology is an advantage. After recruitment, students will apply for membership in one of our campus wide graduate schools.

Start is in August/September 2015 financed through a research grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft -DFG- for three years.
