Signaling at the Plant-Soil Interface

Leibniz Universität Hannover offers up to 11 PhD student positions (TV-L E13, 65%)

in the DFG Research Training Group GRK1798 "Signaling at the Plant-Soil Interface".
Start of funding is October 01st, 2016. All positions are funded for up to
three years, according to pay scale TV-L E13 (65%).
Although key to plant growth and productivity, important molecular processes mediating signal exchange between plant roots and their soil environment are only poorly understood. We thus seek to uncover the basic principles that occur during signal exchange at the plant-soil interface by applying cross-discipline research and by making use of advanced methods in molecular genetics, genomics, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, and soil science. Doctoral researchers of the GRK will perform cutting-edge research in an interdisciplinary environment, where they are advised by teams of experienced researchers. Supported by a tailored teaching concept that facilitates the successful development and execution of their projects, our doctoral researchers progress towards independent scientists. Working language in the GRK is English. International cooperation is promoted by an active guest scientist program.

Applications in English including the names of two referees have to be submitted exclusively in electronic form via the website

http://www.psi.uni-hannover.de/application.html

Deadline for applications is May 01st, 2016
As an equal opportunities employer, Leibniz Universität Hannover intends to promote women and men in the context of statutory requirements. Applications from international candidates are highly encouraged.

Selected applicants will be invited for a job interview until May 31st, 2016. The interview includes an oral presentation of the applicant’s previous research and takes place in Hannover on June 30th and July 1st, 2016. Admission will be communicated by July 8th, 2016.
