The pay grade classification depends on the personal and collective legal requirements. The Employment is provided for the duration of a third-party funded project until the 30.06.2019.
 
Your qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a completed academic degree in the natural sciences or life sciences (Master or Diploma) and basic experience in the fields of cell biology, molecular biology or immunology. Solid scientific English skills are required. Candidates, who can provide proof for a presentation of their work at international conferences or via published papers/abstracts are preferred.
 
About us
In our group you can expect a good working atmosphere and lively research environment at the interface of basic science and clinical medicine. We offer a wide spectrum of methods ranging from molecular biology, immunology and experimental animal models to patient material. The thematic focus of our work is the immunological tumour-host interaction and the immunobiology of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs).
 
The project is part of a collaborative grant aiming at the characterization and use of extracellular vesicles produced by MSC. In your project you will investigate the immunomodulatory capacity of human mesenchymal stromal cells together with their potential to respond to immune cell-derived stimulation. In the project basic research questions are combined with initial attempts to therapeutically exploit our findings.
 
The doctorate will have the opportunity of membership and collaboration within the Graduate School of Biomedical Science (BIOME) and thus benefit from its structured Ph.D. lecture and seminar program as well as having interdisciplinary interaction with other graduates within the BIOME network.
