As part of the research project "Identification and Evaluation of Mycobacterium abscessus complex specific immunogenic protein as tool for detection and characterization of infection in Cystic Fibrosis patients"   by the Pediatric Pneumology and Infectious Diseases Group (project supervisor: Dr. M. Steindor; Head: Prof. Dr. M. Jacobsen) at the Department of General Pediatrics at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Duesseldorf (director: Professor Dr. E. Mayatepek) funded by the Research Committee of the University of Dusseldorf project we offer a
 PhD position (f/m)
for a biologist/biochemist/human biologist starting from 01/10/2015. Salary is ½ TV-L E13 and the position is initially limited to 2 years.
Promising candidates have a very good master’s degree in Biology/Human Biology/Biochemistry. Great interest in clinically focused basic research is a precondition. Experience with methods of microbiology, proteomics, molecular genetics and/or immunology (e.g. bacterial culture, cloning, protein purification, BLAST, flow cytometry) are particularly welcome.
The aim of the project is to identify M. abscessus -specific proteins for the establishment of immunological and immunodiagnostic T cell assays with particular focus on Cystic Fibrosis.
