The goal of the project will be investigating the

Regulation of mitochondrial function upon dark-light transitions.

 
Protein sensors, state-of-the-art in vivo imaging and molecular biology techniques will be used in the model plants Arabidopsis thaliana and Physcomitrella patens. The DFG-funded project ‘Regulation of mitochondrial function upon dark-light transitions by physiological dynamics and post-translational protein modifications in plants’ will be run jointly by our two labs in Bonn and in close collaboration with partners across Germany. We offer an exciting and dynamic research environment, well-equipped labs, friendly and experienced teams with excellent international connections and dedicated training in the relevant techniques and skills to the highest standard. Salary and benefits are paid at TV-L 13 (65%) (German public services tariff).
 
We look for an inquisitive and bright PhD candidate with an interest in plant science, organelle physiology and bioenergetics. Practical experience in molecular biology, biochemistry or imaging will be of benefit. The applicant should hold a Masters degree (or equivalent) in Biology or another relevant subject such as Biochemistry, Agriculture, Chemistry or Physics. Excellent language skills in either English or German are required
