Postdoctoral Fellow (Post-Doc) - Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology, Molecular Medicine, Bio-Informatics
Epigenetic regulation of the cardio-vascular system by non-coding RNAs and histone-modifiers is a rapidly developing, highly competitive novel research area. The post-doc will work in a team with other researchers on novel epigenetic functions of nuclear proteins, as well as on the identification of functions of histone demethylases and vascular lncRNAs. Special focus of the current research projects are the impact of lncRNAs on the assembly of histone remodeling complexes involving BRG-1 and mechanisms and consequences of DNA-RNA-Triplex formation by lncRNAs.
The position is initially limited to two years, but can be extended.
We are searching for a highly motivated Researcher who has a strong interest in Epigenetics. Applicants must hold a PhD and must have published at least one high quality publication on the subject of epigenetics or similar with first authorship. Experience in bio-informatics, ChIP-Seq, NGS or similar is appreciated.
While knowledge of the German language is an advantage it is not mandatory, excellent written and spoken English skills are required.
We offer a highly interesting, up to date research topic in an internationally renowned research team. The institutes belong to the DFG excellence cluster “Cardiopulmonary Systems ECCPS” (www.eccps.de), the national center for cardio-vascular research (www.dzhk.de) and the DFG Sonderforschungsbereiche 834 “Endothelial Signaling and Vascular Repair” (www.sfb834.de), DFG Sonderforschungsbereich SFB815 “Redox Regulation” (www.redox-sfb.de) and DFG Sonderforschungsbereich SFB1039 “Lipidsignaling” (www.lipidsignaling.de). We are based in a spacious, state of the art research building equipped with a broad spectrum of technology ranging from integrative physiology to mass-spectroscopy at the medical campus of Goethe-University, Frankfurt, Germany. The Centre contains laboratory and office space with modern infrastructure facilities and will also house many internationally recognized experts in the field.
