The Max Planck Society Collaborative Research Centre 1218 Mitochondrial regulation of cellular function of the University of Cologne invites applications for

4 PhD-Students (m/f)

Starting as soon as possible with a weekly working time of 25,89 hours (65%) for PhD Student positions. The initial contract is limited for 4 years. The salary is based on the German E13 TV-L scale if terms and conditions under collective bargaining law are fulfilled.
The positions are dedicated to the following projects:
Martin Graef, Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Cologne: Autophagy regulation by mitochondria
Thorsten Hoppe, CECAD Research Center, University of Cologne: Regulation of mitochondrial surveillance by the UPS
Thomas Langer, CECAD Research Center, University of Cologne: Proteolytic control of mitochondrial dynamics and cell survival
Aleksandra Trifunovic, CECAD Research Center, Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne: Oxidative stress signalling in lifespan regulation

PhD Students participating in the projects of CRC 1218 will become members of the Integrated Research Training Group in Mitochondrial Biology (mito-RTG) programme, which provides them with the best possible scientific and team environment, guidance, mentoring and teaching.
Applications in English are invited from highly-qualified graduate students. The positions are available immediately. Applicants should have a very good BA/MA in Cell Biology, Biochemistry or Genetics.
