Analytical Research Associate for innovative Drug Delivery Company (m/f)

Description of Company
Novaliq GmbH is an established drug delivery company based in the Heidelberg Technology Park. It uses an exceptional carrier platform, “semifluorinated alkanes” (SFA), to develop pharmaceutical (Rx) and Over-the-Counter (OTC) products with superior drug delivery properties. The results are better efficacy, higher patient compliance and fewer side effects. Seen from commercial viewpoint, this allows for life cycle management and line extensions.
 
The company is in the process of expanding from research start up to mature pharma. This also incorporates changes in company culture and style of management. 
 
Collaborations with big pharma and universities create steady flow of new development projects. One Rx product has recently successfully completed its Phase 1 study and an OTC product is about to be launched (1st October 2015). Additional products are under development which will be licensed out to marketing & sales partners. The company is financed by a German highly reputable investor in biotech, Dievini Hopp Bio Tech Holding GmbH & Co. KG. The team shows high diversity with members of many cultures and educational backgrounds.
 
The pharmaceutical development group is looking for research associates/scientists to support work within their R&D/Formulation groups.
 
Supervisor
Laboratory Manager
 
Direct Reports / Colleagues
None at the moment but may be added, depending on own expertise and organization development.
 
Primary Purpose of Position
To take responsibility for development of new Rx & OTC products.
 
Major Duties of Position
*Carrying out the analysis of samples in the laboratory
*Ensuring that appropriate laboratory procedures & processes are applied
*To complete test data in time and security
*To take care for technical protocols, reports, SOPs, specifications in ISO and GMP
*Working in compliance with company regulations included HSE
*Ensuring equipment is fit for purpose
 
Qualification
 
Education
*Suitable degree in life sciences like chemistry or pharmacy
 
Business Experience
*Several years in pharmaceutical / biotech R&D / Formulation group / GMP environment
*Experience in biopharmaceuticals is an advantage
*Also experience of using various analytical techniques such as HPLC & GC
 
Languages
German / English on international working standard
 
Personality 
*Social skills should comply with national and international standards in biotech and pharma
*Keeps targets and deadlines, reliable, motivated to contribute to the overall success of the team
 
Management
Project Management and organization of work flow should be effectively
 
Leadership
The style of collaboration and leadership is team oriented, open discussion, supportive, inclusive atmosphere, no politics, target oriented
