Research Fellow/PhD Position
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

The position as part of a DFG-funded project “Quantification, Modeling, and Regionalization of Seepage Losses of Phosphorus from Forest Soils” starts as soon as possible and entails 65% of the fulltime weekly hours. We offer a contract for 36 months. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contract Act (WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).

In the project, field work will be conducted to sample and quantify P in soil solution at different depths. The experiments are conducted in several forest sites in Germany including the simulation of multiple rainfall scenarios by experimental irrigation. Chemical P species in the solid soil and soil solution will be analyzed using fractionation methods.
Requirements: an university degree (Masters or equivalent) in earth or natural sciences (e.g. soil sciences, geoecology, hydrology, environmental sciences); strong knowledge in soil physical and chemical processes; experiences in field and lab work and a driving license;  very good command of spoken and written English and pronounced communication skills.
