The Department of Neuropathology (Director: Prof. W. Brück) at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) is offering the position of a
PhD student

in the Pro-Futura research group “Translational Neuroimmunology” (head of group Prof. Dr. M.S. Weber). The project the candidate will be involved in is funded for five years and aims to characterize the role of B cells and B cell subsets in pathogenesis and regulation of central nervous system autoimmune disease. The applicant should have graduated in biology, immunology, neuroscience, or an equivalent discipline.  Experience in animal models of human disease, cellular biology as well as molecular biology are desirable, but not mandatory.
The candidate will work as part of a group with profound expertise in the murine model of multiple sclerosis (MS), experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). All required models, techniques and reagents are established and readily available.

Salary will be provided according to the German TVL.

Please note that due to university regulations, we will not be able to cover travel costs to Göttingen for applicant's interviews.
