ZIK SEPTOMICS Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena / University Hospital Jena / Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knoell Institute (HKI), Jena
The Center for Innovation Competence (ZIK) SEPTOMICS in Jena (www.septomics.de) is a cross-faculty research center, commonly supported by the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, the University Hospital Jena and the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans-Knoell-Institute. The research focuses on the systems biology of systemic infections with the aim of developing new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Laboratories in security level S2 and the latest instrumental equipment are available for this in a modern laboratory building. The research environment in Jena enables the translation of experimental results into the clinic as well as their verification in human biomaterials. In addition to the already existing research groups at the ZIK Septomics a new junior research group located at the UKJ will be established and financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
