PhD Position in Bioinformatics/Biochemistry: The Future of Next-Generation-Sequencing (NGS) for Genome Wide Screens

Diese Stellenanzeige ist abgelaufen. Finden Sie hier zahlreiche ähnliche Jobs.

Drug resistance is one of the biggest challenges in today’s cancer treatment. An initially effective drug loses its efficacy due to the selection of drug resistant cell populations, leading to malignant relapse and the lack of treatment options. Up until today, the comprehensive identification of drug resistance has been elusive. To address this issue, we employ a broad range of cutting edge technologies, e.g. CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome wide screens, CRISPR/Cas9/rAAV-mediated gene editing, microscopy, proteomics, cell and molecular biology. To intensify our efforts, we are seeking an outstanding and ambitious PhD candidate with a strong background in bioinformatics and interests in molecular biology that seeks the logical, systematic and functional analysis of various experimental settings. Our multidisciplinary setting, in conjunction with our commitment to mentoring, provides an excellent training opportunity in a young, visionary, international and dynamic research team with interests in fundamental and translational science. The positions can be filled as early as the beginning 2016, set to last 4 years and is directly funded by the Institute of Biochemistry II.   Applications of women are specifically invited. In the case of equal qualifications, competence, and specific achievements, women will be considered on preferential terms within the framework of the legal possibilities. The Goethe University is committed to give preference to handicapped candidates with equivalent qualifications. The limitation of the contract is based upon the regulations of the “Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz” in conjunction with the “Hessischen Hochschulgesetz”. The position will be paid as stipend according to current DFG standards (   Formal applications including a single page description of research interests, CV and the names and contact details of two referees should be addressed directly to: Dr. Manuel Kaulich at
