THE INSTITUTE OF AVIONICS SYSTEMS

Complex, fault tolerant and highly integrated avionics systems for aircraft and helicopters are a key research topic at ILS. The institute is focused on the development of innovative methods that allow a widely automatized development and qualification or a flexible and open design of complex avionics systems - a challenging task (www.ils.uni‐stuttgart.de). In order to implement flexible and open avionics systems, research on adaptive system and software architectures is conducted at the ILS. This approach allows avionics systems to adapt themselves, mostly automatically, to changes in network topology, system and safety specifications, application software or peripheral devices (Plug&Fly) - a paradigm shift in current avionics technologies.

YOUR TASKS

You will be a member of the team that is responsible for the development of adaptive, fault tolerant avionics systems. Depending on your position you will either focus on new and adaptive system and software architectures or innovative methods for the design, implementation, verification and validation of these systems.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
  • Candidates with experience in either of the following fields are desirable: Distributed Systems, Embedded Systems, Linux, UML, C++ (or other object-oriented languages)

Salary and benefits are according to a public service position in Germany (TV-L E13, 100%). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
The University of Stuttgart is an equal opportunity employer. Applications from women are strongly encouraged. Severely challenged persons will be given preference in case of equal qualifications.
