At TU Dresden, the SFB 912 – HAEC (Highly Adaptive Energy Efficient Computing) offers as of 1st July 2015 the following position (subject to budget approval) for a
 
Research Fellow
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
 
The contract is limited until 30.06.2019. The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).
Position: The researcher will work in the context of the HAEC Collaborative Research Center (CRC), and in particular in the subproject “Languages and Compilers for Energy-Efficient Programming”.
Tasks: He/She will has the opportunity to gain valuable project experience and to work in an international team of top scientists. His/Her main task consists in conducting research in the area of energy-aware parallel programming and compilation, including topics from (i) domain-specific languages, (ii) automatic code optimization and (iii) code generation for runtime adaptability. His/Her work can potentially impact the way future massively parallel systems will be programmed. He/She will be expected to collaborate with other researchers in the CRC to build larger technology demonstrators and prepare joint scientific publications.
Requirements: We aim at attracting the best talent in the respective research fields and expect the following: an outstanding university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in computer science, electrical engineering or an other relevant area; research experience, preferably in the fields of compilers (e.g., LLVM), optimization and domain-specific languages; sound knowledge in C/C++ software development; proficient knowledge of English; ability and willingness to carry out independent, conceptual and scientific work in a team; interest in practical, interdisciplinary cooperation with partners from research and industry. Helpful is knowledge of computer architectures and performance/energy tradeoffs.
