Research and teaching Fellow
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
The position will start as soon as possible and is initially limited for 3 years with possibility of extension. The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position will give you an excellent chance for further academic qualification (e.g. PhD or habilitation thesis).
The scientific focus of the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology lies on developing novel materials and devices with intrinsic nanoscale complexity. Materials simulation is a major pillar in these research efforts. The activities of the successful candidate will be strongly integrated in the Dresden Center for Computational Materials Science (DCMS) which bundles the activities of more than 20 groups of TU Dresden and various research institutions in Dresden to one of the leading hubs of computational materials research worldwide.
Task: Research activities on Computational Materials in cooperation with internal and external academic and industrial partners, participation in the acquisition of third party grants and the assistance in the teaching activities of the chair.
Requirements: excellent university degree and if possible doctorate in Science or Engineering and solid knowledge of Computational Materials Science (e.g. Quantum Chemistry, Theoretical Solid State Physics, Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo Methods, Theoretical Mechanics, Scale-bridging approaches, etc.). We target at a top-notch dedicated and proactive young scientist with excellent leadership, communication and writing skills in English who plans to make her/his mark in science.
