The solution of the related Bethe-Salpeter equation for the polarization function gives input to calculate the dynamic structure factor as measured via x-ray scattering and can be related to energy transfer rates as needed to describe temperature relaxation in Iaser produced warm dense matter.
The successful applicant will run existing simulation software as well as program new code in this regard. The project is part of the HIBEF initiative and there will be collaboration with other theory efforts as well as with experimental groups in Germany and abroad.
