The new Ultrafast Spectroscopy Group of Assoc. Prof. Frédéric Laquai at the Solar and Photovoltaics Engineering Research Center (SPERC), part of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, is looking for PhD students, who would like to join an exciting and ambitious scientific environment and work on emerging photovoltaic technologies.

Excellent applicants with a strong background in Physical Chemistry, Experimental Physics, or Material Science are encouraged to apply. Current research topics and experimental expertise of the group cover, but are not limited to: Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy, exciton and charge carrier dynamics, charge transport, polymer solar cells, hybrid solar cells, CIGS solar cells.

KAUST offers a unique, young, highly international and very exciting work environment as well as state-of-the-art labs and facilities to perform your research and cover all your needs. The Solar Center (SPERC) brings together researchers from all over the world with complementary expertise, covering in-center material design and synthesis, analytical characterization, device preparation and performance evaluation, photophysical studies by optical and electro-optical spectroscopy techniques, and theoretical description of fundamental processes in devices.

The position comes with a competitive PhD scholarship.
