The Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie is engaged in basic research in molecular pharmacology. As a non-university pharmacological research institution, the FMP is unique in the German research environment. The activities of the institute are devoted to the identification and utilisation of potential drug targets. The goal is to develop new concepts for pharmacologically influencing the organism (proof of principle). Its interdisciplinary organisation allows the FMP to interlink structure- and function-orientated research in the field of molecular pharmacology.
