Department of Molecular and Translational Therapeutic Strategies, Präsidialamt OE 9111

MHH’s Department of Molecular and Translational Therapeutic Strategies was founded 2009 and is embedded in a network of related Departments and Research Groups on our campus, as well as with other national and international collaborators.

Scientific goals:
The unifying topic of our research efforts is the development of innovative molecular and cell-based therapies for cardiovascular disease and transplantation medicine. Specific goals include:

  • The analysis of microRNA-based mechanisms in various cardiovascular disease processes
  • Development of siRNA-and microRNA-based therapeutic translational approaches in cardiovascular disease and transplantation medicine
  • Modification of stem- and progenitor cells for subsequent cell transplantation to improve organ function

We equally invest in the establishment of novel techniques and the development of novel therapeutic strategies with a strong translational focus.
