Institut für Medizinische Mikrobiologie, Immunologie und Hygiene
Postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene/TU München.
A Postdoctoral fellowship is available on the topic “The role and interaction of regulatory T cells during schistosomiasis”.
Within the frame of the second phase of a DFG funded project, we plan to analyze the modes of activation and expansion, homing and gene-expression of regulatory T cells during the chronic infection with the helminth Schistosoma mansoni. We aim to establish under what circumstances Treg cells fail to expand, whether antigen-specificity can be determined and examine in detail the role of dendritic cells the primary induction phase. Furthermore, microarray studies from sorted Treg cells and functional analysis via retroviral gene expression are planned.
We seek a candidate with an excellent PhD degree in biology, microbiology, biotechnology or biochemistry, and should have a strong background in immunology and molecular biology. We are looking for a highly motivated person with the ability to work independently and responsibly as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Applications should contain documentation of previous education and scientific achievments (CV, graduation certificates, thesis and publications) as well as a statement of research interests, and contact details of at least two referees.
Applications and requests for further information should be sent to:
