Project Manager (PM) to Associate Director PM level – Located in Germany (Permanent position; Relocation/VISAS Provided if necessary) Job Code: S29EN

This position is responsible for Project Management support of Technical Operations in a German subsidiary of this San Francisco Bay Area USA company.

The position will require some travel to San Francisco, USA. All relocation and visa sponsorship is provided if the candidate doesn't currently live in Germany. ENGLISH AND GERMAN LANGUAGE SKILLS ARE REQUIRED.

The position’s primary responsibilities are to develop and ensure execution of Technical Operations project plans as well as manage project timelines and budget to achieve key milestones for a late development/early commercial phase project. An additional key responsibility is to ensure appropriate reporting and communication between the German and California parts of the company.

This position collaborates closely with Operations Leadership in Germany and the Core Project Team in California in the execution of project plans, reporting of project progress, to proactively identify risks and develop risk mitigation plans and support and align cross-functional team members in their role on the team.

Plan, track and manage supporting reports/documents for a BLA/MAA Module 3, commercial readiness activities, and preparation for a Mock PAI audit.
Support commercial manufacturing runs.
Support the site (as a right-hand “person”) to the CEO and site Head of Operations.
Develop and manage technical operation project plans against established goals, milestones, timelines and budget. Partner with functional heads and project team to ensure project is on track and aligned with corporate goals consistent with a late development/early commercial stage program.
Responsible for meeting management including but not limited to set agendas, facilitate and document meetings and issue meeting minutes.
Closely monitors and tracks project schedules toward milestones and issues status reports, including assessment of critical path activities.
Facilitates communication between Germany and California departments.
Anticipate, identify, and promptly resolve discrepancies in project priorities, plans, and activities in a timely fashion.
Develop and track project budgets, identify variances, anticipate scope changes and communicate change and issues that may impact the current project budget to the head of Project Management, Finance, and other appropriate key stakeholders.
Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations requires an evaluation of intangible variables. Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results.

Ability to communicate in both German and English IS REQUIRED
Ability to leverage drug development experience to enable robust and efficient project plans.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite including Excel, Power Point. Demonstrated strong proficiency in the use MS Project.
Proven ability to execute and perform autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
A “can do” professional who will work proactively both with internal and external resources to drive results.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive work relationships to effectively interface at all levels across the organization.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed project deadlines.
Excellent negotiation skills. Flexible, high level of integrity, action and goal-oriented. Collaborative and team-oriented.
Degree in life sciences, chemistry, business administration, or finance with 5+ years successful project management track record in drug development or other relevant experience in a life science organization.
A PM certification is a plus.
Knowledge of drug development functional areas including: preclinical, clinical, regulatory affairs and manufacturing. Direct experience in manufacturing biologics a definite plus.
