Max Planck Institut für Biochemie
The Department of Molecular Medicine is analysing the roles of cell adhesion and migration during development and disease, primarily using genetically modified mice as model systems. The department accomodates five independent research groups covering expert know-how and expertise in immunology; mouse development, genetics and disease models; Drosophila development and genetics; signal transduction, cell adhesion and migration. The department owns modern high-tech facilities for life-cell and confocal microscopy, FACS, histology and easy access to transgenic services and animal facilities. Furthermore, numerous central service facilities provided at the institute generate a stimulating and supportive environment for high quality research.
