The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is a top ranking University in Germany committed to research excellence, interdisciplinary education and the promotion of entrepreneurship. TUM is now taking a bold step in establishing TranslaTUM, a central research institute committed to changing the landscape in finding solutions for cancer by integrating principles of bioengineering and biology toward applications in medicine. Through funding of the Federal and Bavarian Government, TranslaTUM will operate in a new modern research building placed on the campus of the School of Medicine and the University Hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar, expected to be completed by the end of 2016. The building brings together bioengineers, biologists, physicists, chemists and medical doctors that will combine skill and effort to develop cutting-edge technologies for the benefit of patients.
