The main focus of our research is Drosophila photoreception. We study the perception of light, the molecular organization of the G protein-coupled signalling cascade that transduces the light signal into a receptor potential, and the function of ion channels of the photoreceptor membranes. In addition we run a proteomics and metabolomics core facility that houses state of the art mass spectrometers.
