The University of Würzburg traditionally has had a strong expertise in biology and its research today covers a broad range of life science topics. Plant biology is situated in three departments, which are united in the Julius-von-Sachs Institute. The research program of the institute includes a DFG-funded Graduate College, which provides a structured education program for PhD-students.
