The Rudolf-Virchow-Center for Experimental Biomedicine is one of the first three DFG-Research Centers. It provides a backbone for the existing research network in Würzburg. This Center promotes interdisciplinary research and education at the interface between medicine and biology. It represents an internationally oriented research center on target-proteins that serves as a common facility for all biomedical collaborative research centers (SFBs) in Würzburg as well as a training site for students and junior researchers.
