Universität zu Bonn
The newly established Program Unit Genomics and Immunoregulation at the Institute for Life and Medical Sciences (LIMES) at the University of Bonn is focused on comprehensive research in immunoregulation, tumor immunology, genomics and predictive medicine. Our goal is to develop innovative immunotherapy to treat patients with cancer. Our vision is to initiate novel strategies in the prevention of cancer and other life threatening diseases in the near future. Knowing that immune defects in cancer are not only important to better understand the pathophysiology of cancer but also critical to develop clinically efficient immunotherapy, our research results will be particularly important for the development of novel innovative cancer vaccines. To unravel the mechanisms of these defects we are using state-of-the-art genomic techniques including microarray or biochip technology.
