The Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology is part of the Christian-Albrechts University and is located in the city center of Kiel. It is anchored within the Center of Molecular Biosciences (http://www.zmb.uni-kiel.de) and part of the Excellence Cluster “Inflammation at Interfaces” (www.inflammation-at-interfaces.de) and the National Genome Research Network (NGFN). The institute concentrates on the genomwide and functional exploration of disease genes in several inflammatory disorders (e.g. Periodontitis, Crohn´s disease, atopic dermatitis, ulcerative colitits), longevity and cardiovascular diseases. By numerous cooperation it is tightly linked to an international network of major institutes dedicated to modern human genetic and medical research.
