PhD Position in Immunology (Munich)

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is one of the most renowned Universities in Europe. The newly established research institute TranslaTUM (Center for Translational Cancer Research) is situated in the heart of Munich and integrates cutting-edge technologies with important scientific questions in the field of immunology, cancer and biomedical engeneering.
The Collaborative Research Center 1054 ‘Control and Plasticity of Cell-Fate Decisions in the Immune System’ and its Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) ‘Cell-Fate Decisions in the Immune System’, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) is seeking a PhD position in the research group of Prof. Christina Zielinski (Technical University of Munich)

Activities and responsibilities

Successful candidates will employ state-of-the-art experimental approaches, cutting-edge analysis tools for immune regulatory mechanisms to pursue projects related to systems immunology. The research group headed by Prof. C. Zielinski focusses on human T cell immunology and questions related to the generation, maintenance and plasticity of human T helper cell subsets in peripheral tissues (Zielinski et al. Nature 2012, Noster et al. Sci Transl Med 2015, Matthias et al. Sci Transl Med 2019). The prospective candidates will have the opportunity to investigate in the regulation of human tissue resident T cells and to engage in novel technologies and analysis pipelines in the area of single-cell RNAseq.
