PhD position in sequence based bioinformatic and phylogenetic analysis of marine organisms

We are a young research group located in Tromsø, Norway, working on theoretical analysis of biological processes. Our research is performed in close collaboration with experimental groups and covers a broad range of biological topics that include chronobiology, modelling of microbial communities as well as modelling of metabolic and signal transduction pathways in different organisms. In addition, we use a broad range of methods in bioinformatics and biomathematics to analyse the dynamics and evolutionary development of complex biological processes.

We have a full time PhD position (100%) for four years available.

Activities and responsibilities

The PhD project will require the bioinformatic and statistical analysis of protein and DNA sequence to unravel the phylogenetic development of molecular processes.
