• Modeling cell-cell interactions and their dynamics in pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
• Our research focuses on unraveling the cell-cell interaction landscape during inflammatory diseases and carcinogenesis using spatiotemporal mathematical models that leverage the unprecedented high resolution achieved with transcriptomics and proteomics techniques. Specifically, we are interested in identifying cell-cell interactions during pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer using a targeted spatial transcriptomics approach.
• In addition, we aim to verify those findings functionally and mechanistically with various molecular biology assays using a broad range of in vitro and in vivo platforms, including genetically engineered 2D/3D cell, organoid, mouse models, and human specimens.
• Ultimately, we aim to identify clinically relevant findings that can be leveraged to develop novel targeted therapies to improve patient-s burdens and outcomes.

• We are looking for a talented scientist driven by the desire to make a relevant contribution to the pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer field by discovering significant findings in the lab.
• Knowledge of cancer genomics, proteomics, single cell RNAseq, spatial transcriptomic and molecular cell biology are recommended.
• Prior research experience in Computational platforms:
  • scanpy & scverse,
  • spatial omics data structure: “spatialdata“,
  • spatial omics analysis framework “squidpy-,
  • NCEM
  • deep representation learning of cellular variation,
  • mapping and modeling of perturbations are beneficial.
• The ability to drive projects at a high degree of excitement are encouraged.
• The position requires a master degree in a relevant field, such as computational science, bioinformatics, biology.
