The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Medicine, University Clinic and Polyclinic for Neurology, is seeking to fill one position of a natural sciences postgraduate, limited to up to 3 years, starting as soon as possible
Research assistant (doctoral student) (m-f-d)
Depending on the tasks assigned and fulfilment of the personal requirements, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L (70 %).
Work tasks:
- Collaboration in national and international networks and registers (e. g. www.ftld.de, GENFI)
- Project development at the interface between neurology and biology/biochemistry
- Establishment of diagnostic assays on potential biomarker proteins of the blood brain barrier
- Writing scientific publications and reports
- Presentation of results at conferences
- Holding seminars
- Supervision of master and bachelor students
- The post holder will have the opportunity to gain scientific qualifications
Requirements:
- Completed scientific university degree in natural sciences
- Strong interest in neurodegenerative diseases and aging
- Strong interest in building diagnostic assays (Immunoassays, multiplex assays, mass spec assays) from biological materials, especially cerebrospinal fluid and blood
- Background knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases and blood brain barrier function is of advantage
- Advantage Expertise in histology, cell culture, immunoassays or mass spectrometry is of advantage
- excellent skills in English
- German language
