Research Group Leader (f/m) - Metabolic Diversity

Within the research focus area ‘Mechanisms of Plant Productivity’ of the Molecular Genetics Department, the leader of the research group Metabolic Diversity is expected to devise and carry out an internationally competitive research program on genetically determined and environmentally triggered variation of primary and/or specialized metabolism in plants. This involves acquisition and analysis of GC-MS- and LC-MS-based metabolite profiles of plants exhibiting performance variation. Suitable plant populations are investigated jointly with the research groups, utilizing IPKs automated plant phenotyping and environment simulation platforms. Using own expertise and in collaboration with other colleagues, the Metabolic Diversity group subjects the extensive data sets to integrative systems analyses towards the identification of mediators and regulators of metabolic processes and the elucidation of relations of metabolic feature with crop plant vitality and productivity.
