PhD position in Molecular Cell Biology/Biochemistry/Virology

A joined PhD position (“cotutelle”; Universities of Goettingen and Bordeaux) is available in the labs of Ralph Kehlenbach at the Center for Biochemistry and Molecular Cell Biology in Goettingen, Germany and Harald Wodrich at the MFP CNRS UMR 5234 at the University of Bordeaux, France. The project focuses on aspects of nuclear delivery of adenoviral genomes and involves research time in both groups. Virol., Port et al., 2015, Cell Reports, 13, 690-702 and Pfaff et al., J. Cell Science, in press. We take part in the Goettingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB), which is funded by the German Federal and State Government (Excellence Initiative; http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/56640.html). The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a degree (diploma/masters) in life sciences and a good understanding of biochemistry/cell biology/virology. Experience in cloning, protein purification, microscopy and/or virology is preferred.
