PhD position: Tailoring the structure of plant hemicelluloses

 Heinrich-Heine Universität Düsseldorf  Duesseldorf
The newly established Institute for Plant Cell Biology and Biotechnology (Prof. Dr. Markus Pauly) at the Heinrich-Heine University of Duesseldorf, is looking for
a PhD Student

The position is available from October 2016.
Plant biomass contains important industrially relevant hemicelluloses. In order to tailor the structure of these hemicelluloses towards applications genes need to be identified that are involved in the synthesis of these hemicelluloses. Based on our previous results we want to continue our successful attempts to modify hemicelluloses in planta using transgenic approaches.
You will join a well-funded international research team in an outstanding scientific environment.
